Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel, Liverpool

The 2026 MOA AGM will be held on the weekend of  6th to 8th March 2026 at the Liverpool Atlantic Hotel, Liverpool. 

The MOA weekend programme will start  with drinks hosted by the Commodore in the Vista resturant  on the evening of Friday 6th March

This year the AGM is being held on Saturday 7th March, starting at 16:00, with the AGM dinner to follow at 1900.    This  gives opportunities to visit local attraction on both Saturday and Sunday

Hotel information 

The 4-star  Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel is situated in the centre of Liverpool a mere 12 minutes’ walk from the Beatles Royal Albert Dock Liverpool Museum.  It is also  within short walking distance of Beatles Statue.  The Liverpool Atlantic hotel offers a snack bar, a shared lounge, full dining and various recreational opportunities as well as conference facilities 

 

Location:

The accommodation has a prime location merely 1.1 km from The Cavern Club. Guests can get to the vastly entertaining World Educational Museum that is a short distance from the hotel. This Liverpool property is also within walking distance of the River Mersey. From Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel, you can easily reach Museum of Liverpool, located just 8 minutes’ walk away. Chapel Street/Covent Garden bus stop is at a distance of 550 metres from the accommodation.

Rooms:

The 225 rooms  are equipped with comforts such as ironing facilities and climate control, as well as a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Also, there is a private safe, coffee and tea making facilities provided. The private bathrooms are appointed with a shower cap and slippers. Guests can enjoy views of the city from this modern hotel.

Saturday Evening
Guest Speaker – Stuart Wood

Stuart has been sailing locally in the Liverpool since he was 9 years. After starting his career at sea in India, the Caribbean, and Mediterranean, he became fully qualified as a Liverpool Pilot in 1978 and retired as Senior Pilot in 2009. He was a volunteer, then skipper and finally Northwest Area Governor of the Ocean Youth Club from 1970 to 1988. He formed a group in Liverpool to build a replica Pilot Schooner, launched in 1985 as Spirit of Merseyside, still going as Spirit of Falmouth managed by Turn to Starboard. He has also been a volunteer  and skipper with the steam tug Daniel Adamson Preservation Society of which he is now President. He owns the Mersey Mylne Mercator (#19) a cruiser/racer 25 footer.

A guided walking tour of the local landmarks on Saturday morning is available   There may be a small cost for this depending on numbers. If you are interested, there will be a space on the AGM booking  form for you to indicate interest.

We have a discount rate for the Liverpool Western Approach  Museum for parties of 10 or more.  If interested please indicate on the AGM booking form, available on this site from 1 December.

We have secured a discount room rate with the hotel  of £135 per night B&B.    This rate is only obtainable if you book before 9 January  2026. 

The hotel takes £50 deposit to secure the room booking. 

Hotel rates in Liverpool can be fluctuate depending on local events   It may be worthwhile to check with discount hotel booking sites before making your booking as you may find a cheaper rate. 

Parking:  The hotel has some overnight parking, on a ‘first come first served’ basis. When booking let the hotel know if you require overnight parking.    Cost is £14 per night.

9 January  2026:  Hotel Booking:   The special £135 rate per person/ nights is available  9 January 2026. After that date, members will need to secure rooms at current best rate.

1 December 2025: On line booking form to attend the AGM and choices for the  Saturday evening dinner  available 

12 Jan 2026:  Formal AGM calling notice and request for members to submit nominations and proposals for consideration at the AGM 

7th Febuary.  Closing date for propositions and nominations to be submitted to the secretary

10 Feb 2026:  Proxy/on line voting opens

23 Feb 2026:  Proxy voting closes 

1 March 2026:  Last date for placing Saturday evening dinner choices using the online booking form  and for booking discount attraction tickets.

Guided Walking Tour

We have arranged for two guides to take two groups out for the walking tour on Saturday morning 7th March, leaving the hotel at 10:00. The tour will last approximately 2¼ hours, returning to the hotel. Highlights include:

  • Three Graces- the Liver Building
  • Beatles Statue
  • Albert Dock
  • Liverpool Town Hall
  • Mathew Street- The Cavern Club
  • Eleanor Rigby Statue
  • Sailor’s Gate

The cost for this will be £10 per person.  Booking in advance has now closed. 

Western Approaches Museum

For the  Western Approaches Museum, for  a group of 10 or more, we can get a discounted group rate of £12.50. We are proposing that an MOA group could visit the museum at 10:30 on Sunday morning, 8th March. For 10 – 15 people, the MOA will organise a guided tour. Alternatively, you can do a self-guided tour in around 75 minutes.   Booking in advance is now closed.

Cancellation Policy

Dinner and AGM Cancellations

Bookings for the Saturday Dinner must be cancelled by  1 March  2026 to receive a full refund from the MOA (The hotel require the MOA to finalise meal number/choices by  2 March) 

Please email agm.admin@moodyowners.org to request cancellation.

You will receive a reply by email with confirmation of your refund.

By Rail:  The hotel  is 20 to 30  minutes walk from  Liverpool Lime Street station (approx 1 mile).  Taxis are readily available at Liverpool Lime Street Station from a dedicated rank on the Skelhorne Street side, just outside the station entrance near McDonald’s

Air:   Liverpool John Lennon airport.  Bus or Taxi to Liverpool centre
