Scotland
Welcome to the Scottish Branch
After a highly successful 40th anniversary year where a great number of you joined our events and musters enjoying everything from a ceilidh to whisky tasting, I hope to see even more of you in 2026. Once again, we have a varied programme of events lined up for the coming season. See dates below and watch out for invites from the secretary.
At the branch AGM, held this year in Royal Forth Yacht Club, we saw some changes to the committee. Selina Weir (no relation!) has kindly offered to take on the branch secretary role releasing Simon Flower to fill the vacant Vice Captain position.
Meanwhile Robert McLean and Alistair Cameron have agreed to continue in their roles for another year. I am incredibly grateful to all the committee and to our volunteer organisers: Bill, Ashley, and Caroline, for all their hard work.
I hope to see you at one of events this coming season. We have three that are shore based starting with the Curry Night in Glasgow, a fitting out lunch at Port Edgar and our AGM at the end of the year. On the water we are planning 4 musters at various marinas. These are friendly social gatherings spread over a weekend. We always start and close the season in the Clyde but in between we hope to tempt you to our musters on the West Coast. Whether you are new to these cruising grounds or old hands, there is always plenty of opportunity to discuss your cruising plans or compare boats, projects, or problems with like-minded Moody Owners. Or simply enjoy a good chat over a glass of wine.
All Scottish branch members should receive e-mails for each event but if you are a member of another branch and want to join us, please email scotlandsec@moodyowners.org or ask the membership secretary to list Scotland as your alternative branch. Do also sign up to our Muster WhatsApp group-chat* to get the latest updates and share in the fun.
I hope everyone has a great season and I look forward to seeing you on the water.
